Fishing Report 21 March 13
Thursday, March 21st, 2013Crappie: The crappie are staged ready to go shallow just as soon as the water temps and moon gets right. Most are caught trolling jigs and litewirehooks in 14- 20 feet of water. Many fish are still in the channel but you catch lots of small fish. The larger fish are on the ledges and biting reel good. The best areas are the mouths of any creek to midway to the back. Best colors are bubblegum, midnight, electric chicken, and any darker color with chartruse tail. 1/16 jighead and #7 piece of lead has worked good the last week running 1 MPH on GPS.
Bass: The Bass are in the shallows with many on beds. The last tournament this weekend, the winning weight was 15+ pounds with second just under 15 pounds.
Bream/Shellcracker: Picking up with some good catches being brought in during the afternoon.
Catfish: Biting all over the lake using stinkbait.
