Fishing Report May 31, 2016

Crappie - May has been a great month for crappie on Lake Talquin..lots of nice catches with good quality fish…some still being caught in the deep water trolling. Best jig colors junebug, blue/blue and electric chicken…jig head colors orange, red and black.

Bass - Lots of bass being caught in the creeks…some really nice catches this weekend.

Bream/Shellcrackers - Several limits was brought in this weekend with some nice bream and shellcrackers…fishing with giant big red worms and crickets in 5 to 6 feet of water.

Catfish - Lots of catfish being caught with Sonny’s stink bait.

Crappie - Great catches of crappie still coming in…trolling in 10-14 feet of water…best jig colors junebug, blue/black chart and acid rain…using a 1/16 jig jig head colors orange, red and black. Good catches also being caught with minnows in the shallow water.

Bream/Shellcracker - Lots of bream and shellcrackers being caught with crickets, giant big red and green worms….best reports little river and the creeks…5 to 6 feet of water.

Catfish - Lots of catfish being caught with Sonny’s stink bait…we have plenty of Sonny’s stink bait stocked in the bait store.

Bass- Good reports on bass in the shallow water and off the ledges using crank baits and zoom worms.

I want to thank everyone for coming out for the 6th annual Rusty Leverette memorial tournament this past weekend …it was a great success…we had 22 boats in the tournament. Paid out the first 8 places.
