ABOUT OUR LODGE

History
Lake Talquin is an 8800-acre impoundment in the Ochlockonee River. The lake was made in the late 1920's to supply power to the surrounding areas. It was named for the cities of Tallahassee and Quincy. Lake Talquin is known nationwide for its large specks (crappie). Lake Talquin holds the record for crappie at 3.83 pounds. Talquin also has excellent bass, striped bass, blue gill, shell cracker, and catfish. Talquin also has outstanding scenery with a vast amount of wildlife including deer, turkey, birds of prey, wandid birds, and lots of alligators.
